Jeff Young has over 25 years of retail and franchise experience and is uniquely qualified in franchising with experience as a franchisor and a franchisee. As Director of Training and Development for General Nutrition Centers (GNC) he was part of the original team to develop an award-winning global franchise organization that grew the chain from 900 stores to over 5000 worldwide locations. Putting numerous franchise owners into business led him to follow that same path owning two GNC stores and a Candy Express franchise.
Jeff enjoys working with people from all walks of life to determine if owning a franchise will let them realize their dream. He has worked with individuals that had previous work experience as a human resource manager, information technology professional, marketing manager, professional football player, engineer, business owner, independent consultant, bank executive, mechanic and a New York City bus driver to name a few.
Recognized as an authority in franchising, Jeff also shares his knowledge and experience in franchising as a featured speaker at IFA’s Business Network meetings, career counseling workshops and classes at local colleges and universities.
Jeff has a degree in Business Management from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. His career began by learning the restaurant business with operations and training positions at Long John Silvers Seafood Shoppe's.
Jeff lives in Pittsburgh with his wife Carol, and their two sons Adam a student at Carnegie Mellon University and Garret, a high school senior. He enjoys skiing, sailing and family vacations. Jeff is dedicated to helping others and very active with community and church events.
